Be careful what you say….

A young teenage girl named Gina got into a terrible fight with her mother. She called her mother names and said things that she didn’t really mean. She was just mad at the time, because her mother wouldn’t let her go see her friend. Gina's mother told her that she had to go out to speak with someone about sending Gina off to boot camp. After Gina's mom told her that and got up to walk out of the door to go to the police station, Gina told her mother, "I hate you. You’re not my mother. You’re an ugly, fat pig. I hope you die!"

Thirty minutes later, this girl got a call from the police.
"Hello," she answered the phone.
"Yes, this is the NYPD. Is this Gina Phillips?"
She replied, "Of course. Why are you calling? I’m not afraid of you stupid police. You can come arrest me. I’m not scared!"
The policeman said, "What are you talking about? I’m sorry to tell you this, but your mother is almost dead. She got into a car accident at the top of your road." Gina trembled in shock and dropped the phone. She ran out of the house and up the road as she remembered the cold words she has spoken to her mother. Her mother was barely alive and was laying on the road.
"Mom," Gina managed to utter.
"Gina, my baby girl. Gosh, you are really growing up. It seems just like yesterday when you were playing with Barbie Dolls. I love you so much. I know I’m going to die, and before I do I want to let you know that I love you. I never meant to make you mad or hurt you. I was only trying to do what was best for my little girl, only to realize that she wasn’t so little anymore. I want you to do me a favor after I’m gone."
"What is that, Mom?" Gina asked.
"I want you to remember how much I love you. After your dad left us, I almost went crazy. Now you have turned into a beautiful young woman, and I want you to live a full life. I want you to go places. I want you to make a difference. Gina, I just need to ask you one thing. Why did you say what you did - that you hated me. That hurt me so much."
"Mom, I am so -" was the last thing Gina could say before her mother took her last breath. She never got to tell her mother that she was sorry for what she had said. Now, she doesn’t have a chance.

I hope this story left you with one thought:

IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO TELL SOMEONE, TELL THEM BECAUSE YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE A CHANCE LATER!
